There was a time when this pub was one of those rocking live music venues which hosted the likes of AC/DC (down in the vaults none-the-less) and Nirvana. Unfortunately those days are long, long gone and all you get these days are some mellow bands on Fridays and Saturday nights. In a way the live music metro that this place one was is no longer the case, which is a bit of a shame. As for the pub itself, like a lot of the renovated pubs in Adelaide this place has a really classy feel about it, and has a really nice beer garden as well. Mind you, like most of the pubs these days, the beer garden is actually not for smoking, but rather a airy and bright dining area (though unlike some places you can smoke here after 9:00 pm). Unfortunately I never came here all that much in the past so I really can't compare it now to what it used to be like, but due to the passing of the live music scene it is really only a shadow of its former self.
We had dinner in the restaurant and had a great night. All the tables were booked but the staff were on top of everything and our orders were taken promptly. We were also looked after all the way through the meal. Probably the best service I've received in a long time. The food was all delicious and great value for money. Lovely atmosphere in the dining room even though there was band playing and a front bar full of people.
