A bargain store with lots to offer, the prices are quite reasonable I picked up a photo frame I wasn't looking for, but found and fell in love with it (it's okay I really did need it!). The staff were okay at the checkout - nothing *to write home about*. The store lacks signage, but is set out with everything in it's own sections, so everything kitchen/storage is together, a small gardening section, stationary, cosmetics, jewellery etc. The aisles are nicely spaced - not cluttered and crowded like some discount stores - the aisles are also quite wide, BUT the store still packs a lot inside! There is a wide range on offer and they stock different items to other chains like the Reject Shop or Roni's - probably if you can't find it at those other stores, you'll find it here :-)
Like most discount stores you need to be aware of the quality of the items on offer, sometimes you pick up a real bargain and other times you pick up something that wasn't really worth what you paid. I do like buying the cheap plastic storage containers, they are available in many sizes and are great for my craft supplies. I also enjoy looking at their craft items. Staff can be hit and miss, sometimes they seem like it's an effort to be there and other days the staff are quite pleasant,
The staff at The Liquators Toukley need some serious education in customer service. I have been a very regular customer there for years despite rather shoddy merchandise and rude unfriendly service. Today was the final straw, when I asked if I may have my $5 change from my purchase in coins rather than as a note, and had the 'staff' laugh in my face and say 'no'. Even if you can't do it, how easy is it to be polite? Every experience I have ever had there is the same, no 'hi how are you?' - it's like you are an inconvenience rather than a customer. ...and heaven forbid you should ever try to take back something which (and most of it will), breaks. You have lost my business, I will never go there again. I will go out of may way to take my business elsewhere!
