atmosphere was great - very comfortable. We were offered the choice between the al a carte menu and the degustation so we decided to leave ourselves in the chefs hands. A few minor dislikes were easily accommodated. We were not disappointed. So many fantastic dishes but the ocean trout with black beans and pork crackling really stood out as did the deconstructed lemon merangue pie. Lovely wines and attentive service.
This warm and cost restaurant was booked out when we walked in over Easter however we were warmly greeted and offered a table with the option of an interesting tapas menu.
Instead we sat at a cosy table by the bar, enjoyed a well made Genovese coffee, played the games that were at the table and planned our next move.
Having dined elsewhere and then rejected by 2 other venues who wouldn't serve us as we hadn't had lunch from their set menus, we returned for coffee and dessert later that same day, were warmly greeted again and sat at a table by the fire.
The menu looks great with some quite modern dishes and a good selection of options and price points.
The staff were polite and welcoming. I look forward to returning for lunch and will book next time !!
