The Lord Dudley Hotel

5. This was another one of those really cool pubs hidden away in the back streets of Paddington. I guess there are some places around here that I quite like (despite most of them having a complete lack of a beer garden). This is more of an English pub with the type of décor that you would expect to see in such a pub. Actually, this one does have a beer garden, but apparently it is closed most of the time (which is a bit of a shame). Still, it does have a really nice atmosphere, and the staff are really friendly, and it is quite a relaxing place to sit with a beer while reading a book (or at least that's what I tend to do when visiting pubs). The problem is that it does happen to be a bit out of the way, but I would certainly not object to visiting it again if I happen to be nearby. Oh, and I should also mention that the building is really nice as well.

Great English pub was pretty busy on Sat evening. There was a big group of us that came here so we made the atmosphere ourselves.
Getting to the bar is a little difficult if busy as its the type of place where you sit at the bar.
Good in the Winter as they have a lovely fire going. Looking forward to coming back here again.

I love the Dudley, I've been coming here for more years than I can remember, the thing I like is that it has always resisted renovating to look like so many other pubs in the area, it's genuine old English pub feel is what the locals want and I have always had a great night here, the food has changed quiter a bit over the years but is still worth a visit downstairs to the restaurant for some good hearty meals especially in Winter.

Great pub but terrible service. Rude and uncaring. Food is ok but the service is so terrible that you will be gobsmacked. Such a shame.

Fabulous old world English style pub. Food is okay, but it's a bugger if you smoke as the only area is outside on the footpath and it's a small space.
