I really didn't like this place, but maybe it was the time of night that I ended up having a drink here I was staying just around the corner and had seen three pubs all in a row and decided that I had to have a beer in each of them before I went home, but time was getting away from me. So, after a play that I saw at 'That Building' I returned to my hotel and decided to visit each of these pubs.
So, at 11:00 pm I made my way to the pub to notice that there were a heap of people on the smoking terrace (the way you get into the pub) and each of the entrances were blocked (all four of them). However, once I managed to squeeze through the people I entered the pub to discover that, with the exception of the smoking terrace, the pub was empty. So, I bought my midi (as they call them here in New South Wales) and drank it while contemplating the meaning of life.
I agree the food is good and well-priced. I do think there's too much premium space for the smokers but then the smokers would have a different view! Not a lot of character but it does the job when you work close by. Small Bar and Balcony Bar are nearby if you want something cosier, but this is a good spot especially for taking a group of people from work. Very friendly staff too.
If I'm going to lunch with my Department, the Office is probably my favourite place to go. They do a greeat steak and Chips for less than $20 so was surprised at LittleMiss' issue with the price. I do recommend booking a table ahead of time.
Definitely consider it more as an eating venue than somewhere i'd go for a drink.
