If you consider your self a pie gastronome this is the place, the range of fresh baked choices are excellent, through to a cabinet displaying mouth watering cakes. Lunch time is busy, but we have found the staff very helpful and friendly. There is a good range of seating options inside and outside along the foot path. The coffee is nice and smooth with a pleasant lingering after taste. News papers are provided for your leisure as you relax over a pleasant lunch. We keep returning to The Original Food Company in Mt Barker frequently. The reason being a good range of fresh food choices, prices are appropriate, and the service is consistently good. It is very clean and tidy environment, with comfortable seating. On offer is a free paper for you to read, or do the crossword, as you dine and relax.
What impressed us with this bakery is their focus, to produce a range of the highest quality sweet and savoury pastries with a complimentary line of cakes and buns. Achieving this quality they source the majority of the ingredients from local producers, most of whom are located within 100 kilometres of the Bakery. Resulting in prize winning gourmet pies and pastries.
The bakery/cafe is located on the Gawler St, beside the Red Cross Shop. Out side there is a very tidy comfortable alfresco area on the foot path, with a closer inspection it is on the sunny side of the street, making for a comfortable place to sit and chat in the sunshine.
