The Passage
An unprecedented and considered alternative to Sydney's drinking culture.Sydneysiders are often left wanting when it comes to late night drinking spots that retain elegance and style. Amidst a sea of pubs, clubs and swanky bars, The Passage fills the glaring void for those seeking intimacy and seclusion with a fine cocktail and tapas.
The menu is designed to be shared with a range of starters, snacks and more substantial tasting plates. Cocktails range from the traditional to exotic house drinks and there's an extensive wine list for connoisseurs.

Hard to find parking (try the nearby St Vincent's Hospital) and hard to find the restaurant (for some reason 231A is a long way up the road from 231). But its worth the effort. I guess its more of a bar than a restaurant, so the meals are made for sharing. We went for lunch and had entrees of calamari and anchovies, and mains of sirloin steak and pork bellies. I'm not much of a meat eater so these didn't sound all that appetising, but it was my carnivorous husbands birthday so he got to pick. And I was pleasantly surprised. They were beautifully prepared, very very tasty and there was more than enough food for us. The wine list had us a bit baffled as well. But the charming waiter offered to bring us some samples and we happily settled on a Fallanghina which is their house white. I'd never heard of it, but it was great.
Thoroughly recommended!
