Best Restaurant in BrunswickShhh! At Don't Tell Tom there is no secret to be kept despite the name; rather this establishment doubles as a restaurant and bar. Serving traditional pub food with a twist, menu choices include char-grilled calamari salad and chicken parmigiana for lunch and a similar dinner menu. There are also a range of sweets including the delicious banana and coconut French toast with vanilla ice cream and Malibu lime syrup. Meanwhile, the ambience is funky and spacious. Located along popular Sydney Road in Brunswick, Don't Tell Tom is housed within a converted post office, and you can see touches of the old inhabitants around.

Honestly, what more can you ask for in a Sydney Road pub – craft beers, live music, and a mighty fine beer garden. Well, this pub certainly stands up alongside the best of them, and even has that great grungy feel about it that makes me love the area, and this pub in particular. Sure, I haven't been here as often as I like, but it can be a little difficult getting down to Sydney road at times. Still, this is a great pub with some great music, and certainly has some good beers on tap. Sure, not quite a craft beer bar, but the atmosphere is still wonderful.
If theres one thing Brunswick is good at, its making you feel at home. And even if I didnt live there, I would totes love the place and why not? Between cheap food, Asian bargain stores and op shops, there rests bars and pubs, big and small, all with that same Brunny charm.
The aforementioned charm usually comes in the form of second-hand shop couches, affectionately mismatched furniture, inexpensive brews and a red brick interior with homey wallpaper with various works of art, old and new, on the walls. Plus, a pool table (every pub should have one). Though the pub is one of the lesser-known Brunswick music venues, it has a sizeable stage for bands of all types, though folk-pop and indie rock are particular clientele favourites....
