I'm still unsure how I feel about this place. The last 2 times was disappointing, before that I loved it
Maybe it's what you get
This time I had this pork and Apple combination, not bad,the pastry is thick so the pie won't crumble on its own wait but it was $8 and I was expecting more taste. One friend said just get the sweet stuff here, maybe next time
Recommended by a work colleague. The smell and selection of the pies are fantastic. They have a rolling menu depending on what they decide to make on the day. I had the Chicken Carbonara With White Sauce, Bacon & Mushrooms. The pie case was flaky and the filling was amazing. Had all the flavours of carbonara but in a pie. Had it served with sides of Homestyle Potato Mash & Classic Mushy Peas. The sides were a generous size and can easily be shared between two. Would love to come back here to try the dessert pies as they looked amazing too.
It's been a while since I was last here but we found ourselves here for a spontaneous craving of pie. We stayed for 2.5 hours eating dinner and dessert talking for ages cause it's just so cosy inside. We had the beef brisket pie, classic beef pie with mash and the kumara chips for the Savoury part of the night. The pies were great with crispy tops and the mash was creamy with small chunks which I think makes great mash! The kumara chips were nice but a little too salty!! For dessert we went for the super sweet and tangy Lemon brûlée tart, creamy cherry ripe pie and the pumpkin pie. I'm not a big fan of purée pumpkin but that was the best dessert in the lot as it wasn't overly sweet and you weren't too sick of it halfway through! The spices in it were also fragrant and worked nicely with the pumpkin which you could actually taste! We really enjoyed the relaxed and cosy night time atmosphere and stayed til closing!
