The Pig and Pastry
The Pig & Pastry sources much of its produce locally to complement its own freshly made products including breads, brioche, cakes, and ice cream.
Enjoy a coffee, tea or a good old fashioned malt milkshake to go alongside your egg and bacon bap, morning muffin, house-made granola, or a doughnut. Our menu changes regularly depending on what is available at the markets each week.
Love this cute little cafe opposite Petersham park. It caters for groups & families with kids. There is a small menu of clean, healthy dishes to choose from & a cabinet full of baked goodies made in house. I love special occasions like Easter & ANZAC day as these are treats you can only get around this time. Otherwise the donuts, beetroot chocolate or carrot cakes are all amazing. Great coffees too & always service with a smile.
Sheltered away from the hussle and bustle of Parramatta road right next door this little cafe knows what they are doing. Once walking through the beautiful wooden window doors you are in a haven of delicious food and pure comfort. Whether your just picking up a take away coffee and pastry or sitting down to a beautiful meal you will be satisfied. But be warned on the weekends this place is so popular you will need to wait for an available seat, but of those in the inner west we know if you don't have to wait it isn't worth it. I recommend the Hash Browns and Poached Eggs for brekkie; simple ingredients put together in a mouth watering way!
A lovely place to have to have breakfast. It is located just off Parramatta Road and has both nice seating indoors with traditional seating and bar type seating next to the windows as well as a few tables outside too. They even have some dog bowls outside with water so even your pooch can come with you too.
The service was warm and hospitable. Immediately served as I walked in, I perched myself near the window. At this cafe, they pride themselves on making their own bread and baked goods. I went for a Bacon & Free Range Egg Roll as well as a Freshly Squeezed Apple Juice. The roll was soft and very delicious. There was crisp bacon and a nicely fried egg. A nice tangy BBQ sauce too. Juice was a nice granny smith apple. I also got a Lemon Brûlée Tart to takeaway. The tart base was very short and the filling was nice and tangy.
A hidden gem in your suburban area. Not so hidden these days as everyone seems to know about it now but once you get a table you'll surely be impressed. I order this tuna salad that was perfectly seasoned and just the right quantity. Our food came out fairly quickly too. I then ordered a chai latte. I must say this was the best chai I've had!!!
In my opinion, the most consistently good, pretty, kid-friendly cafe in the Inner West. It's set right on the corner of a beautiful oval in Petersham on West St, really close to Parramatta Road, but you feel a world away.
The decor is a bit casual french country industrial, quirky and retro. Flowers are everywhere. The food had always been delicious - I am a big fan of the pancakes and their bacon and egg rolls. Their muesli with fruit compote is also spectacular.
Milkshakes are also a standout - had a salted caramel number recently that was sublime.
This place always sets me up for a good day, and makes me good about my lot in life!
