After spending 3 nights in Cairns, my boyfriend and I decided to go to a nice restaurant for some quality seafood on our last night. We were seated before 6.30 to receive the 15% discount - which we noticed happily was about $35 when we received the bill. We ordered the salt and pepper calamari and soft-shell crab for starters and then we both ordered the mixed seafood grill. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic - including the drinks waiter who spent time advising us about what food would go well with the wine we ordered.
Not only was the service great for us, but we were able to observe the other waiters, including a man serving a Korean family next to us who cheerfully brought out crayons for the little boy to draw on the paper over the tablecloth. Additionally, the man receiving guests was friendly, polite and amusing, and we noted ...read more
We were at Cairns a few days ago and we decided we might want to have a good seafood meal before we leave. We had a look at the dining guide and found that Raw Prawn looked rather decent. We ordered a cajun catch of a the day and a pacific fusion. The portion of the cajun was small, it cost $22.90 and it's lesser than the $8.50 i paid for the fish and chips the other with another restaurant! I wonder a small eating asian like me find it too little what about the caucasians. The Pacific fusion was worse, my gf found that the mussels were not fresh and complained to the staff , they took it, smell it and told us they agreed that it isn't fresh.
They said "What can I do for you? Do you want a new dish cooked?". My gf was full so she asked for a discount, that staff responded with a "pfff" *eye roll* ...read more
Our family went there for my father' s birthday. The service was great and the staff very friendly and helpful but it when it came to the food we were all very disappointed. It was way over priced for what you get, the garlic bread was soggy and looked like the kind you buy frozen in the super market. My Father ordered the $22.90 fish and chips and when it arrived on the table it was size of a kids meal, in fact I have seen $7 kids meals bigger than what when he got! It was a embarrassing! We are cairns locals and we will never ever go back!
I heard the restaurant is very famous and good service for tourists so I went there with my family. I also heard from local travel agent that they give you 15% discount when you seated before 6:30pm (which was also advertised on the restaurant sign). So we went there way before 6:30pm and had dinner but when we got the bill, there were no 15% discount at all. Also while we were having dinner a senior staff member was talking rudely about all the foreign customers to their staff. Not realising some of the customers actually spoke English. Food was average but since the customer service and unwelcome aura I can not rate this establishment higher than half a star! If you are a foreigner visiting Cairns, I STRONGLY recommend not visiting this restaurant!
