The Rock Salt cafe in Hawker, stylishly decked out in sleek modern decor, is an upmarket venue serving a delicious range of modern Australian cuisine. The menu is set out with a suggested wine to complement each meal and includes a good range of flavoursome dishes such as char grilled lamb with fresh apple, fennel, chilli and muscatel vinaigrette. There's also a kids menu on offer, which includes puzzles and colouring in to keep the little ones occupied as you enjoy a relaxed meal.

I have dined at Rock Salt many times in the past - most recently for a family function. We had a set menu (however the staff allowed flexibility for the last minute vegetarian meal) of delicious food, and little extras included a surprise additional course, homemade belgian chocolates with the coffee and a rose for each of the ladies present. Although the price of your meal isn't cheap, the food is divine and the atmosphere is perfect for that special occasion.
This restaurant, tucked away in the Hawker Shops in a gem. It has been around for a while, and even though it changed hands, the quality of the food is still excellent.
