The Royal Hotel

Such a gem of a hotel in a favourite town, made famous many years ago with visiting royalty, it is such a beautiful historic hotel. The food is good and fairly priced and so too are the rooms, especially those that open to the wide verandah over the sea.

We held a function at The Royal last night and it was FANTASTIC!



The upper section of the bar was set aside for us, the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly, the food was fantastic and everyone had an incredible time!



Dealing with the staff at The Royal in the lead up to the event was extremely easy, nothing was too much trouble.



The renovations were commented on by everyone at the function as we all frequented the hotel a few year ago, prior to the hotel changing hands. It is now fresh, bright and sophisticated.

I whighly recommend this venue!

Was surprised when we turned up and it had been revamped. Could not believe the price of the food, so over priced. Ordered the Mushroom pie which consisted of a ceramic dish and 3 mushrooms inside the dish with a puff pastry placed over the top! Also the management of the restaurant was the rudest person I have ever met in hospitality. I agree with comment below the old Royal Hotel did it much better! Very disappointing and we will be telling friends and family not to go there.

Was excited about the revamp and sure it looks nice but the food prices are insane and the service is atrocious! $46 for my husband's rib eye steak with vegetables, $36 for my porterhouse! $12 for a glass of champagne! Doesn't suit you Royal, management there - by far the rudest person I have ever encountered in hospitality! The group of 8 I was there with will certainly not be returning that's for sure!

Lovely staff, the rooms have a real period feel to them, with amazing views.
The rooms are reasonably cheap to boot! Would definitely stay there again!
