Quite a pleasant club to visit and convenient for the members. Quality of food is adequate without moving much from the ordinary club fare.
SLIPWAY - very efficient and pleasant and well run though always very busy.
MECHANICAL - most of the mechanics at the club charge like wounded bulls for less than good work. I had engines serviced here on 2 occasions and thought I would need another mortgage to cover the cost. The attitude - \"that\'s just how it is mate\"......!
Will continue to slip there but won\'t use any other services.
Painters at the club do only an average job. The head contractor's work is good but much of the work gets done by apprentices etc and the standard suffers. There are better painters around in my opinion who charge less.
We contracted someone to do a major paint and repair job on our yacht. Found their work very slap dash with apprentices doing much of the work and not much supervision. Work was ordinary at best. A lot of work had to be redone and their costs were way over the quotes. Sorry, they carefully explained that they didn't give a "quote" it was just an "estimate". I have learned by bitter experience. Wasted time and money with these people and not much respect for me being a club member.
