Located in a square under an apartment block, I was so pleasantly surprised by this discovery. The cafe is open with seating inside & out & is very kids friendly. Its decorated like comic books with lots of toys & even the menu is like a comic book with menu items intertwined with pages of comics! Staff are all so friendly and welcoming and are attentive from the minute you walk in till you leave. The menu sounds classic but modern & surely enough the dishes, when arriving at the table, looks absolutely stunning & beautifully presented. Taste wise it really hits the spot too. Lamb eggs sounds like a heavy dish but is surprisingly refreshing but so tasty. Middle Eastern style lamb mince is served on top of shredded, cooling cucumber & labne, drizzled with balsamic, dusted with dukkah & scattered with pomegranate seeds, perfectly poached eggs, all served on sourdough. This cafe can be hard to find but once you’re here, you’ll really enjoy it! Located just behind Burwood Plaza and in Emerald Square, this place was quite busy when we arrived for a late lunch. The decor and menus are whimsical!
Service was excellent and felt immediately welcomed by the staff. Lots of outdoor tables so perfect for alfresco dining.
We had a couple of the burgers, one being the Lamb Kafta Burger, the other was the Southern Fried Chicken Burger. Both were served with really crunchy chips. The burgers had great flavour. The chicken one had a great crispy coating. The lamb one was a delicious kafta patty. The fresh juice and ice crushes were quite nice and refreshing.
Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.
Great cafe tucked behind a new shopping plaza, the Rusty Rabbit is perfect for families and small groups. The pumpkin smash and southern fried chicken burger were definitely highlights for me. The staff are wonderful, making the experience an enjoyable one, plus they also sell a wide range of Pop vinyl toys!
The Rusty Rabbit is in a interesting location,a new building next to Burwood Plaza,in a place where it is the only non Asian eatery and it looks like they are making a killing! It's busy is what I'm saying!
Came for brunch and was impressed. Everything tasted better than your average cafe
But there prices are a little more than expected.
I do like it's theme and it's comic book illustrations though
Like I said it's busy and if you come, you can see why for yourself
You'll just have to find it,it's a little tricky
