The Community Group for Personal Growth Inc (The Salisbury Centre) is a long established spiritually based community centre. We are a non profit organisation that provides a place of sanctuary for the community at large. Since 1985 we have offered educational courses, workshops and therapies for spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. The inter-connectedness of body, mind and spirit is the foundation of our work and we believe that healings and growth arise naturally from this recognition. The Salisbury Centre is a member of the Australian Spiritualist Union. THE CENTRE Rev. Glennys Mackay J.P. started The Community Group for Personal Growth (Also know as The Salisbury Centre), located at 183 Lillian Ave, Salisbury in April 1985. Glennys was guided to create a Spiritual Centre where people from the community could come together and feel welcome. The aim of the centre was for people to have a place of sanctuary, find inner peace and develop a deep understanding of their own spirituality. The Salisbury Centre still operates to day under the same mission statement as the founder, Glennys Mackay. The centre is a non profit organisation which relies on volunteers to promote and provide a place of learning, healing and growth. Our centre maybe small in size but it has a core of volunteers with big heartsâ?¦ The Centreâ??s Aims a) To provide a place of quiet and sanctuary for the community at large. b) To provide opportunities for members of the community to reach deeper levels of understanding of their own and otherâ??s spiritually. c) To promote self awareness and self esteem among all d) To work towards the recognition and understanding of the importance of individualsâ?? rights and responsibilities to both themselves and the community. e) To encourage social interaction with like minded people offering a support network, and the hand of friendship.
