Absolutley useless ! I called offering a Fulltime Plumbing Apprenticship. The "Recruitment officer" promised to call back in 24-48 hours (his words). 60 hrs later I had to call to find out he is being trained and cannot call me for another two days. He was unaware of a massive funding scheme available for this position which was about to expire within a week. He obvioulsy had no sence of urgency to find someone to fill the vacency or the courtesyy to call me back.
Dont waste your time here. Oh God I hope they dont attract Government funding.
It was the lack of support that really turned me off this place. The staff seemed to take on board very little of what I said and told me to actively hide some of my past experiences. The few times they actually turned me towards a job vacancy, it was either for jobs they had heard about in the immediate area or work within the Salvation Army itself. It felt like they had done no preparation when I had to come in and many interviews with them were full of awkward silences as they stamped the paperwork and sent me on my way. Ultimately, they were useless.
Beyond unfriendly to begin with. Then I was told for some reason I have been signed up for work for the dole even though I am a full time student. I was then told by the woman at the salvation army that to get an exempiton for work for the dole I had to go centrlink in stones corner. When I got to centrelink and enquired about the exemption they told me what I was told by you guys was absolute rubbish and it was actualy you who were supposed to give exemtions not centrelink. So thank you very much for wasting my time and I would appreciate it if you would actualy know how to do your job properly before you waste any more of my or anyone elses time. And I would also try adopting a friendlier attitude because the lady I spoke to was just down right rude. Seriously get it together
Overall, sign up somewhere that is warm and friendly. There is minimal support, compassion or understanding alongside an extremely negative vibe at employment plus moorooka... Bland front counter service. The staff is rude and condescending.
