The hostel offers two wings, the Old House and the New Extensions. The Old House is where our dorm rooms are located ranging from 6 bed and 4 bed dorms. Being a Federation style house, it was built between 1890 and 1915 during the Federation of Australia; it has many beautiful old features such as high Ceilings and ornate Corridors and has all of the charm of the Federation era.
The second half of our Hostel is a more modern extension completed in the 1990â??s and is where we have our private rooms with either a double bed or two singles beds, set up to suit your needs.

This hostel is unclean and has a serious bed bug issues. I stayed in room 16 for 3 nights in dec 2007. Two weeks later the 40 bed bug bites from the Shiralee bites on my legs are still very itchy. I was overcharged on arrival. Given two singles not one double. The fan and light in the room did not work and they refused to fix. When I complained about the bed bugs they said that room and the hostel has had problems before. Other problems include the spa is not working and even if it was it in a poky dirty park of the garden, the kitchen was always dirty and is very small. The outdoor area was ever grown. The showers are really bad and dont have anywhere for you to get changed plus there is no privacy as the shower screen are almost clear and people in the hallway can see in.
hostel has been fully renovated since this guest stayed here.. also changed management and can assure you there are no issues with bed bugs..
