The Silly Seahorse Playcentre & Cafe in the last few months is Under New Management the centre is so clean and the staff are very friendly. The coffee is so good and the entry prices for kids are so cheap adults get in free. You must try the Kellie's Special and the chicken (which is all real fresh chicken fillet) with chesse and avocado yum. The new mermaid and pirate party rooms that have been re done by a local spray painter look amazing. Look out for this little Playcentre I have a feeling there could be new equipment on the horizon. Anyone in the local areas of Chelsea Heights check it out the little ones will love it and it's so relaxing for Mother"s groups, if you book a table they even give you $2 off each childs entry WOW !!!!!
Today I attended The Silly Seahorse ( 9th of August ) and I was disgusted in the service and staff. I am a regular customer at The Silly Seahorse and for the past 3 months I always come into The Silly Seahorse on a Saturday along with my sister and we are always greeted by two lovely staff members ( a older lady and a younger lady ) who always make our time at the silly seahorse warm, inviting and satisfying. They always make the time to show interest in our children, our food is always made to perfection and the service is always outstanding even when they are juggling numerous parties. Today there were 2 new staff members, two I have never seen before they were rude, slow and uninviting. I was disgusted by there customer service and I am far from satisfied with my experience. I'm disappointed that I have now had a negative experience at this play centre as I always I spoke so highly of there staff and customer service. I won't be going back there for a while ...read more
Note:- The establishment is great for the kids. Although the staff working on Saturday the 8th of March, 2014, that catered for my little princess birthday party where rude towards me and my guests.
I will not recommend this play centre to any person or persons wanting a birthday party or any celebration.
I have paid top dollar for my princess's first birthday and was treated like a second class citizen by the staff members on service on the date in question.
Note: - This is a good play centre "if" it is open. They are often closed for holidays, functions or "other" and never update their website to reflect the information.
Call first to check if they are open because unless you live within a 10min drive of the place there is not much else in the near vicinity and its a long drive home with restless kids.
Unless you are having a party the service is very average and if you arrive within 15-30 minutes of closing even if they are closing for a function they haven't put on their website they will still charge you full price and pack-up in a disgruntled and rude manner around you.
Its a fun play centre from 1-8 year olds and as far as they go relatively clean, the price is OK if you get a good 2hr block not cheap but not OTT. but my advise is: Call first, go early and eat at home. 3/10 for friendliness, service & information; 8/10 for play, 3/10 for locality
The seahorse update their facebook page on a daily basis regarding their opening/closing time for the week ahead.
I would have to agree with what this person is saying, the silly seahorse is a fabulous play centre. I take my kids their once a week and I have never had a problem with it! staff are always friendly, my kids always meet new people and they have a ball! For a play centre it is extremely cheap I believe, and the quality of the food and even the service is priceless. I have never had a bad experience there, and even if something was to go wrong there is no doubt in my mind the staff wouldn't be the first people to assist.
I highly recommend this play centre to anybody with children from 6months old to 7 years old. Always a great, cheap day out!
Some of the silly seahorse staff aren't very friendly. I find the entrance fee is expensive too. The food there is expensive and not worth the money you pay for it, last time I ordered a mini pizza for my daughter and it was half English muffin with a bit of Tomato paste or what ever with a little bit of cheese for a $3.
absolutely agree. Took my daughter to a party there yesterday and the staff were HORRIBLE. Staff treated everybody as a nuisance and grumpy with kids. Kids had a good time though in spite of them.
I really like the Silly Seahorse. I find the entrance fee a bit expensive ($7.50 for a 3 year old) but it is a really spacious, bright place for the kids to run around and staff have been nothing but friendly to us. Have been taking my kids there a while now and have had 3 birthday parties with them - all successful and fun. Highly recommend the Devonshire Teas which are delicious and scones are baked on premises so are always lovely and fresh - if you order them when they first open at 10, they serve them to you straight out of the even - YUM. They also have a really good baby section - with a tub full of baby toys for ones who are literally just rolling around and can't move much. 12 months and under are no longer charged entrance, too, which is great.
