The Strand Restaurant

Not having been here in som,e years I thought it was time to do a return visit. The venue itself is as lovely as it was, but the food... The mussles on the paella were poor quality, otherwise that meal was rather nice. The prices of the meals, however, and of the drinks were all rather excessive. $13 for a wine here that would cost $8 - 9 almost anywhere else. Coffees from $10 upwards. Nice venue but to visit you need to win lotto.

This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant, one of my favorite by far. The view is simply spectacular of the harbour, the restaurant layout is modern and clean and most importantly the food option is just perfect and divine! We came here one evening hoping for a nice meal and that was exactly what we got with fantastic service. Started with a dozen kilpatricks $37 for the dozen and had the chargrilled baby Octopus which was cooked in red wine and herbs with avocado, cherry tomato, black olives and roquette $19. Lovely start to the meal, for mains we opted for the lamb shoulder, this came with some baby carrots, lentil, cauliflower couscous. The other main was a fish dish - barramundi fillet with potato puree,baby spinach. Both dishes set us back at $70. By this time we were quite full as had really hoped to try out their dessert. The price is definitely a premium, however so well worth the money spent for the food, experience, view and service we got. A huge winner!

The food was nice but nothing amazing. The hot cuppa was not hot enough. I asked for chilli or tobasco and never saw anything nor an apology. My mate had to ask for lemon for his fish and another had to ask for butter for her bread. And as for Gluten free, forget it. But the view is good and there is reasonable parking close by.

Beautiful food, overlooking the city. What else can you ask for. Love it.

Nice location, but vey expensive. Absolutely no complaints on the food though!
