Appalling service from start to finish - I ordered plantation shutters with matching sliding doors for my salon. After a lengthy wait to have them arrive from their manufacturer in China and then finally installed, they were too big for the window so had to wait another few months until installation. The runners for the sliding door were screwed onto a white covered plyboard and then screwed onto my new wooden laminate flooring. It looked ugly and I wasnt thrilled with the result, adding that I believed it to be a tripping hazard but agreed to leave be. Roll on a couple of years and the wood started to bleed through the white paintwork of the slats (I was told by the owner of the company that this was a common issue they had with their old supplier - and other peoples reviews on truelocal confirm this) So they agreed that they needed to be replaced. They removed my faulty 4 panel doors which, although now very discoloured,, did match the design of the front ...read more
An incompetent Company! It seems The Woodblind Factory haven't changed since the previous post after 2 years. Problems started in Oct 2015 and have been continuous since, involving 2 wooden blinds. One that wouldn't close properly, was told by the Company the mechanism needed to be replaced. And the other with different coloured slats (and may I add that the owner of the Company pointed that out). We continually had to call them to find out what was happening. Ongoing ridiculous excuses. After receiving the blinds a few weeks ago, 8 weeks from when they took them away to repair - they were no different! "It's the best that we could do " she said. Don't spend your good money on a Company that has no quality control, no customer service and no staff! Go elsewhere!!
Reply from The Wood Blinds Factory:
Mrs. R had placed two orders for timber blinds with us.
The first order was in July 2012 for three blinds, one in the kitchen and two side by side in a sliding door.
The second order was placed in October 2015 for three more blinds. Between the two orders, there had never been a complaint from Mrs. R.
Whilst measuring windows for order No 2, Mrs. R mentioned that there was now a small colour different between the two sliding door blinds. We were puzzled by this and promised to investigate to see why this could be so. Our next visit to Mrs. R in the following week, Mr.R actually pointed out to us, that one of the blinds, which by now had been in service for more than three years, had in all this time been covered by a fly screen which of course provided partial protection from the UV from the direct sun, they were exposed to.
Since it is UV that causes the gradual degradation of paint, we all agreed with this and the blind was left in place. At this point, Mrs. R made two further complained her blinds, first the closure of one of the blinds in the sliding door, secondly five slats in the kitchen blind.
Less than a week later, we organized our fitter to remove the kitchen blind to send back to our factory for slats replacement. Mrs. R informed us that there was no urgency with is as they were going to America in September for a month.
When our fitter returned the kitchen blind back to Mrs. R, she refused to accept it and claimed that the slats colour was wrong ( note: the blind has been hanging in the window for three years ).
). Mrs. R has been a difficult customer to please and keeping in mind that her blinds were well and truly out of warranty and that we never charged a cent for any of service calls. We feel that this company has tried very hard to do what is right and will always endeavor to do so.
Reply from Mr & Mrs R: Just to clarify - we actually had 3 separate orders with your Company. First order - no issues, 2nd order - where issues were raised (may we add that you agreed to fix), prior to installation of 3rd order. Also, if you're saying within 3 yrs the sun caused the blinds to discolour then your product is of poor quality!
The closing of the blind was the first problem (which your husband tried to fix on 12th Oct 2015), not the discolouration that came later. YOU noted the 5 different coloured slats on the kitchen blind when you replaced a warped slat on 15th Nov 2015. I had taken photos and also a full report was done sometime later by Jason on 21st June 2016. It then went on and on from there!
The reason why I didn't accept the kitchen blind is because it still had different coloured slats. The problem wasn't fixed! I will now get a professional to change the mechanism on the other blind.Yes, they were out of warranty but you did agree to get them fixed. Unfortunately photos cannot be added to this review but I have posted them with our review on Facebook for family & friends to read & share.
Finished!!
Ordered many shutters for my home. So many mistakes made they had to be reordered twice. On the third attempt the shutters that were to be replaced were a different shade of "white" - nightmare with no back up service. Have asked them to contact me on numerous occasions but I just get ignored. The shutters that were installed have started to crack and are a mess!
I am Jackie Reinhardt, the owner of the business. In the last 15 years, The Wood Blinds Factory has experienced some mistakes but we have never ignored our customers complaints. Why don't you call us and identify your problem. We cannot recall a case where we had to re-order twice and then the wrong colour arrived.
The comment regarding us having no back up service is a real kick in the teeth, when we try so hard to follow up with customers when we do have an issue. I sometimes think these forum pages are a bit of a "cowards punch" if people don't identify themselves in any way whilst saying damaging things.
Maybe you can inform us of the date you placed your order so we can investigate this case. If we have failed in any way, please accept our profound apologies and allow us to make up for it.
