Woolshed Pub is an iconic establishment in the tourist district of Cairns city centre. They have a large range of beers and ciders on tap and their dinner menu was impressive. We ordered the lamb cutlets and sirloin steak with beer battered fries for dinner. The lamb cutlets were to die for and probably one of the best lamb cutlet dishes I tried. The serving size was very generous and we had a 40% discount off the main menu items which made the experience all the more enjoyable. On Wednesday nights they do wicked chicken wings with hot sauce for $10/kg or 50cents a piece (minimum of 10 wings per order. The wings were on the dry side we thought. Dinner starts from 5pm.

Backpacker land ... always popular around 6pm for the free / cheap meals that come from the backpacker accom places. Warms up around midnight for the 'dancing on the tables / cheap drinks' ... plays mainly pop. the Lounge downstairs is a more chill / stylish place with a growing gay crowd.
