Had a road trip to Hervey Bay and on way back to Brisbane decided to call into the Historic Theebine hotel. Historic it is with some amazing nostalgia on the walls. Cold beer was ordered and a chat with some of the locals was great. After talking to locals we were convinced to hang around and get what was described as the best steak you will ever have so we waited for the local cook to turn up. They were obviously in a c**p mood when they arrived. Ordered 2 rib fillets medium rare with verges and chips. Theebine was a great experience until the food was delivered. Overcooked steak that gave my jaw cramps. The veges were quite obviously frozen and the chips had turned into cold mashed potato. We called over the management (great management by the way) and I cut off a piece of my steak. They just shook their heads and went to get the kitchen staff.
