Theo's Rye Hot Chicks

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT and such a huge improvement. Nice plump looking chickens, a generous serve of chips and a good choice of fresh salads and cooked vegetables. So glad new owners took over as we were driving to Rosebud or Dromana to get our charcoal chicken as the Rye one had gotten so bad. Well worth giving the new owners a go.

I waited nearly 25 mintues for a quarter chicken and chips. The chicken was already cooked and waiting!

It took them 15 minutes to figure out they had a bunch of orders for chips, so they eventually decided they should cook some.

When taking the order, she asked if I wanted chicken salt. "Yes, please." What I got was no salt!

And apparently, you have to spend 5 seconds awkwardly tearing the EFT receipt from the machine by hand, because it's not designed to easily tear off with the in-built serated cutter.

I'm not sure it was chicken - except for the shape. It tasted very strange, and the stuffing was an orange-brown gelatinous mass.

It was almost a comedy sketch - however, if I get ill, I will sue them!!

They have a sign "Junior Staff Wanted". It should really be "Competent Staff Wanted".

Great coffee, thank you. Chicken better than KFC. Loved the popcorn chicken bits. BUT I am not happy that they advertised opening at 7 30 and at 8.08 am they were still closed so I left to come back to my breakfast meal. That really annoys.

Absolutely a waste of money. Ordered a schnitzel roll and got a dried out tasteless lamb souvlaki. Paid for chips and gravy and got half a teaspoon of gravy; same with chicken roll and gravy ...no gravy. Potato bake potatoes not cooked. Worst takeaway I have ever had. Salad not even filled to top of the container. Very stingy, tasteless, over cooked or days old meat. Never ever going back there and I am a local who will spread the word. Total rip off
