Food:
- Bland, tasteless, cheap and almost uneatable.
- ordered nachos and it came out literally 2 minutes later having been zapped to high heaven in the microwave making everything on the outside too hot and everything on the inside cold, had to send it back to be zapped again.
- wife ordered a steak, it tasted like nothing, and the mash was uneatable.
Drink:
- Probably the only thing I would go here again for, but it closes so early that it is not even worth going to as a bar.
Service:
- People were uninterested, and looked like they were just happy to sink with the ship. No enthusiasm or chit chat, it's like they were as worn out as the food was.
Overall experienced:
- Cheap, stingy, tasteless, bland and boring.
Great casual dinner spot with friends. Parma left me more than satisfied with the possible need to be rolled out the door it was so filling! More than reasonable drink prices and friendly attentive staff that added charm to the evening. Great location and great specials. Will be back again and again.
This bar/restaurant/nice spot inhabits a good spot in the QVB in Melbourne. It's a good place to laze away the hours on a sunny weekend or to catch up for drinks with friends during the week. For those who are fiscally focused they run numerous specials, both constant & seasonal. You cant go past the $15 pint & parma on Thursdays. The parma was tasty, with a good level of sauce & cheese. Most impressive of all was the size...it honestly spread over the edges of my rather sizeable plate! The chips on the size were good too but could have been a bit crispier. Overall, this place represents good views, good times & good value!
This is great spot to catch up with your friends after shopping or work for a drink or a pub meal. Even thought it is a reasonably new building it actually does feel a bit like an English pub - which appeals to me being a pom.... The Aussie feel is in the mix with the great parmas - which - when I was there on Parma and a Pint night - everyone looked like they were really enjoying.
Just to add to the international flavour - the service was fast and friendly and delivered by a cute New Yorker!
Good value pub/bar/cafe place. We went on a Thursday night and enjoyed the parma and pint (or in my case, glass of wine) special. They accommodated my request for no ham, cheese or napoli sauce (so just the schnitzel basically). Served with some nice chips and a salad. Nice dressing on the salad but a bit more salad would have been nice. The parmas were a considerable size though! There are indoor and outdoor seating options available and it seems a great casual spot to catch up with friends after work or on the weekend. Service is prompt and friendly.
