I hired a small pantechnicon from Thrifty West Ryde. I clipped a tree causing damage to the top corner of the pantechnicon. I was told that insurance did not cover the pantechnicon - I had to pay up. They organised the repairs through an associated company Johnson and Arthur Holdings. The bill was $5,131,83 including $3,040 labour. When I queried the labour cost I was told that it take a lot of work to undo the nuts on that part of the pantechnicon. Now I know I could undo every nut and bolt in a pantechnicon in a couple of hours. So either the hourly rate for labour is excessive or they are using neuro surgeons or lawyers to do the work. Thrifty Rentals - not so thrifty.
