AVOID... sorry its a bit of a story but worth telling.. I had my worst experience ever with them and Thunderbox . i put my console in as it wasn't playing games and the error code came up with a faulty laser. I put it into them late December 2011 to get fixed. They first said to get in contact with Sony to reformat it as that might fix it. They never got back to me for over a week so i had to ring them. They still hadn't heard from them and said they would get back to me. They didn't. Then they wouldn't answer my calls so i had to go in there. They said that they lost all my data on my console then to try the laser and/or driver route. Again they never got back to me and over 3 weeks past. i finally got a hold of them and they said someone came in claiming he was my boss and knew my phone number so they said they explained the problem to the guy, he said don't worry about fixing it and proceeded to give them a gift voucher for my console. I've been a regular customer at Thunderbox for a number of years and have never had a problem - great friendly service, I've had my PS2 for 6 years which I played constantly and needed repairs done twice in that 6 years and they were completed quickly (with a free quote to boot). When I decided to upgrade to a PS3 I traded my PS2, games and a bunch of DVDs to go toward a PS3. I recommended my brother and a best mate who have also become customers - both bought second hand Xboxes and haven't had a problem with them - they've both had their consoles for a few years. I highly recommend Thunderbox - 6 stars out of 5
If you enjoy being not being informed of any progress with your machine regardless of promises to ring you, and if you enjoy waiting up to a year or more (yes we still hav'nt got our machine back even after nearly 12 months. Then I recommend you take your repairs to Thunderbox game shop!!
Apparently I have to give a minimum of a half star. They don't deserve that much!!!
After getting a number of views on what was wrong with my wii. I sent it to these guys with the promise of having a quote by the weekend. I called them a week later to find out what was going on. 2 months later and only 1 phone call from them(many from me) I went and picked up my machine, not fixed!! Not happy with the service this store provided, or with the communication they lack with their customers. I would not recommend this store given my experience with them. Sorry guys but I hope others find their experience with you more helpful that I did.
