Terrible... never regretted not getting a curry more in my life after that meal. Ill give them one up that their fish wasnt to bad but there chips weren't chips they were soggy fries, calamari looked straight out of a coles branded frozen packet, burger wasn't terrible but was well average. Ive given this place to many second chances and I'm not usually a person to write a review but they don't deserve business if they serve that.
We moved suburbs and decided to try our local fish and chip shop. This is a life decision we have lived to regret. We ordered the same as we always do, $23 worth at our old faithful but a shocking 40% increase in cost to $37 for a 100% reduction in quality! *please note that percentages were mentally calculated by a person starved of the very brain food they ordered and may or may not be accurate.
My fish was so thin that more than half of it was crumbs adhered together with a fish flavoured piece of paper, which was odd because I ordered battered. I also ordered fish. Not a total of 65 grams of fish, a piece of fish.
It came accompanied with... You might want to sit down for this bit... FRIES!!! Skinny little dried up sticks of pain, the stuff of nightmares and midnight ...read more
Since there were some changes in the cafe the chips have been soggy, the potato cakes have varied between having uncooked batter to soggy and greasy. Despite advising of this and requesting well cooked food, we have been served fish that was uncooked in the middle, and the chips/potato cakes greasy, soggy and unpalatable. Tides Inn...please listen to your customers, otherwise you can expect people to walk away. Disliked: Food, Value and failing to listen to customers. Some of the staff were polite and friendly.
Seems really clean and the staff don't seem to be rude. Very overpriced for a fish and chips shop it cost $3.60 for a Dagwood dog. Fair enough paying that at the Ekka, but at a fish and chips store in Albany Creek? That's a little too steep. It did taste good though, can't fault the food.
