Terrible experience, totally regret using them. The installers did not level properly, missing numerous areas in our home. We now have major movement in the laminate, particularly in the hallway; it feels like we are walking on a trampoline. We reported this issue and the shop said "there is no problem", despite the movement being FAR greater than the amount they said is 'normal'. What is more, because they inspected it and forced us to accepte it as is, they tell us the warranty they promise on their products no longer applies. I suspect we will have to pay someone else to lift the laminate, level it, and relay (which means also paying a painter to do the cornice). To top it all off, the installers placed replica planks next to each other everywhere, such a lazy installation job. DON'T USE THEM!! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE AND COSTS FOR PAYING SOMEONE ELSE TO REDO AND FINISH THE JOB!!!
Dear customer,
Thanks for your reviews. We respect and try our best to make our every customer happy.
Firstly, we are really sorry to make you have such bad experience. In this case, we understand you are not happy with the “floating experience” of your laminate floorboards totally. As the same as we explained at the very beginning to you what Laminate uses “Click Locking system” as an installation method, which is different with “tongue and groove” for solid timber. It is impossible to have the same “extremely fixed” feeling compared to solid timbers’ when you step on the laminate. As a result, please tell we have reached an agreement and deducted the compensation from your final payment last November. But, we are sorry that we would not accept any further unreasonable compensation after Fair Trading decided to reject this case.
I had a terrible experience with Timberland. Firstly, the floor levellers missed the kitchen, meaning the boards there had to be taken up and relaid. Then, the installers left spacing wedges underneath the skirting boards, meaning there was no space for the boards to expand into. As soon as it warmed up, the boards warped, lifted, and now I have bouncy space under my floor. It feels cheap. After about 7 visits back to my flat, weekend days spent waiting around for them and lots of time taken off work, they eventually replaced the most damaged boards. It's better, but still rubbish.
It's particularly frustrating dealing with any issues after the installation because it's all subcontracted out. All communication other than pointing and shouting had to be to their supervisor over the phone.
The boards themselves seem OK, but it's been a long and stressful experience and I have a bouncy floor to show for it. Do not use.
I had a terrible experience as well and would not recommend this company at all.
Bad Business overall-no time management, bad decision making, bad customer service and no respect towards their clientele.
Trust me do not use this business!!!!!!!!!
I wish we had seen your review before we used them recently. Terrible experience for us too; at least they fixed some of yours, they refused to fix our bouncy floor. Planks also seem good, although two had a chip in them, but they refused to replace without charging us, saying they had the right to choose not to. Terrible "warranty"
End to end the experience with Timberland Flooring was really good. Coming to the end of a stressful renovation with the usual numerous issues with trades, this was a breath of fresh air.
From the experience in the showroom when I dropped in, through Jerrys attention to detail during the quoting process and sorting the non-standard aspects of the job, the ongoing customer support and communication, particularly from Bessie, in the time leading to the job being done, and the management of the installation itself, it was about as smooth as it gets. ...read more
