Beautifully presented japanese food that is delicious and fresh. Sit at a table or if it is very busy sit at the bar. Popcorn shrimp is a must, fried pieces of sweet and crunchy prawns, dip it in the creamy mayo... Lamp cutlets looked amazing and everyone in the restaurant seemed to have ordered it. Come here for a lunch meeting, to impress a date or a slightly fancy meal with friends.

Goodness me, what an experience Toko was! As a hardworking Sydneysider who makes an average, middle class wage, a meal at this restaurant was very much set aside and anticipated as a special dining event. My partner and I set aside a night to celebrate her birthday at Toko, after hearing well-above-average reviews and recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed.

I say "dining experience" because it was not your "average Saturday night out at the local Thai before getting wasted at the pub" evening, it truly was an experience which I still think about, despite having had the meal 3 weeks ago. Snobby- over priced. Booking is a nightmare. More interested in making money than dealing with customer needs. I am a local and I will NEVER go again.

Tokonoma: where even the roofline is delicious. Dimly-lit and bulging with style, this place has both cuisine and decor down to a fine art. Edamame connoisseurs should prepare to re-learn what they thought they knew. The prawns are memorable, the calamari flawless and the kingfish, wow ... juicy little slithers that look underwhelming but ultimately change your life. Wine list is exhaustive, service is sharp. Do it.
