Tokyo Bird

Tokyo bird is hidden in the back streets down a little lane toward the Central station end of Foveaux St Surry Hills. The only thing that gives this place away is a man on the door and a little sign. Tokyo bird is a cool little Japanese whisky bar serving izakaya - which are small bites. This place has a crazy impressive collection of Japanese whiskey, stuff that is near imposdible to obtain. Japanese whiskey is very sought after, it is also hard to get your hands on and this translates to expensive prices on the drinks list. They also have wine, sake and they pour a decent cocktail(very stiff) which is great. There are numerous beers to choose, including asahi and asahi black on tap.

The Japanese whisky specialists, this bar is a favourite pre-dinner pit-stop for me. I love a few sticks of yakitori and a whisky to take the edge off a hard work day, and slide more fluidly into night-time entertainments. Keep your eyes peeled for their special events - whisky matching, sake matching and the like.

nice place, japanese influence, a lot variety of japanese whisky. a bit too pricey. Try the yakitori for small bites!
