New owners and now it is called “Something fishy” and let me tell you there is something fishy about that place. Horrible food, horrible service. I used to come here for years had the best fish and chips in town but that is all gone downhill. The worst treatment of management that I have ever seen. Returned our food to get money bak they refused to give us our money back and chucked the food in the bin. You pay $40 to get a child serving of a fish and chips for two people. Never again!
Since my last visit to Top Catch there has been a few menu changes, with the addition of burgers and other hot menu items and the fish selection has been scaled down to your choice of fish to either Hake or Barramundi. We ordered the fish (barramundi) and chips, the fish was cooked beautifully, the chips a little over cooked served with a wafer thin wedge of lime on a plastic plate.
The vinegar seemed to be watered down, as no matter how much you poured all over your fish and chips it was extremely subtle even when the chip was soggy and generally vinegar in a bottle does not have air bubbles on the surface in the bottle that the vinegar come in – disappointing experience overall, my only positive was the actual fish.
Great Fish & Chips! Loads of menu choices, fish grilled or lightly battered and cooked to perfection. Chunky chips with a selection of sauces. Salads and drinks. Seating is perfectly positioned for people watching. One of my favourite fish and chip places North of the River
