A Hidden Gem, amazing coffee, friendly staff, highly recommended!

This used to be the cafe we dropped into on the way to school or on the way home. We used to take our guests here because the food was lovely.

However......... One morning, as a treat for my son's good efforts at school, we decided to do breakfast. We allowed plenty of time, and ordered a standard menu item each. Half an hour after ordering, the table of the person next to us, who arrived and ordered after us, all received their meals.

At first I really liked this little cafe, I used to pop in and get take aways and I could have seen it as becoming my local take-away place for my days off! but one experience has put me off for good.

The one who served me did not greet me terribly warmly. i ordered my usual take away coffee and put my change in the tip jar. As they were making my coffee I asked politely if they could make it around 60 degrees as I do not like my coffee too hot, I also apologized for being a bother, although I don't think it was too unreasonable to ask.. When I received my coffee it was scolding hot and almost impossible to drink. Being someone who appreciates good coffee and likes to be able to drink it almost immediately when I order a takeaway coffee and after asking as nicely and pleasantly as possible for it not to be too hot. I won't be returning.

Apart from that experience, the younger staff there have always been great.

This is a great little place to take the mother-in laws or mums as it's a great little eatery with the added bonus of accessories to browse through while waiting for your meal or coffee. Food is on the higher side of things for meals but that seems to be standard these days. Used to be cheaper.
