Top Of The Range Licenced Cafe & Gallery

Overpriced, staff not very friendly, water not offered with your meal. Told to purchase bottle water, after my young daughter burnt her mouth on the hot chocolate. Won't be back.

Having spent the previous two hours hiking from the Macedon Railway Station up to the top of Mount Macedon it was time for me to sit down and have a rest. Fortunately this little cafe was here, though I would probably prefer to call it a tea house because its speciality was tea and scones. Mind you I ended up having a lemon muffin (and forgot to take a photo of it) while sitting on the balcony looking over the paddocks of rural Victoria. The cafe also includes a gallery, containing paintings no doubt painted by one of the owners (or local residents). The paintings all have a war theme, no doubt sticking with the memorial cross about a hundred meters away. Mind you, most of the people seem to come up here by car, which sort of defeats the purpose of going for a walk in the bush.

went to this cafe as a treat for some intersate visitors after seeing the monumnet .



we ordered 3 chicken and advacado toasted sandwiches with wedges$13.00.



so bland i was thankful tehy couldnt stuff up the wedges in teh deep fat fryer .



we also order one 1/2 strength flat white extra hot , and one cuppacion. both luke warm

and the 1/2 strenght was not in the least .



took it back and asked for another one. aggressive staff came out and ranted on about how he made it perfectly and basically we didint know what we were talking about .



2nd cup still wasnt hot . whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth which matched theri food and coffee.



that place should be a gold mine , but its run by muppets who have no idea.!

Come over here last Saturday (April 14) for lunch. Husband had been here before with few of his coworkers and he recommended the beef burger. So I ordered for the beef burger then the staffsaid that I have to wait 40mins for the burger. So I changed my order, chicken avocado sandwich instead. Ordered coke zero and the staff said that they're already out of coke zeroes. Fine. Ordered diet. So we waited aNd waited and waited.. About 40mins our foods finally arrived!! Had to ask for a bag to take away our foods coz we have a party to go to. Terrible service, slow, and the foods are just average. Not going back there ever again!! Would probably bring foods instead next time we go back to Mt. Macedon.

Worst Cafe ever! had run out off all full strength beer. most of the items were out of stock. so had the choice of a toasted sandwich or a burger. took over an hour to get our burger and wedges. start of meal went to get another drink as we had already finished our drinks on the long wait. they couldnt just give us the drinks that were already bottled straight away they said they would bring them to our table. we finished our food then i had to complain to the bar about getting our drinks. they had been added to the food que. staff were rude. would not go back.
