Torch Café on Richmond’s busy Swan street is small is size but big in reputation for its consistently good coffees. The cosy, welcoming café has a mix of communal tables, individual tables and some alfresco dining on the pavement, but you may have to wait your turn on weekends. It serves all day breakfasts, foccacias, daily specials, wine and some indulgent treats.

Good coffee, great menu - very broad - good breakfast selection (recommend the toast and jam, poached eggs and bacon, porridge), wide ranging lunch menu with snacks and bigger dishes. Great chocolate brownies, rich, nice warmed. Parking on Swan Street or tram stop just outside. Great service. Can get busy on warm days but they will always find a spot for you. Cosy but enough room (just) to have a private conversation.
