The peace and quiet here is like no other environment, this close to Melbourne. French Island has one shop, no made roads, no mains power, no mains water, no bridge and no council. We do provide genuine friendly service, professionally laundered sheets and towels, chef meals, hot showers and spectacular views. French Island Eco Inn is the closest property to Tankerton Jetty, (ferry arrival point from Stony Point and Phillip Island). Alternatively you can bring your car over from Corinella on the vehicle barge or you can even arrive directly on our property by helicopter.
Whether you want to see the worlds largest population of disease-free Koalas or some of our 250 different varieties of beautiful bird-life, The French Island Eco Inn is an ideal place to relax, enjoy the raw beauty of nature and real fresh air.
We currently have Ensuite cabins, a Backpackers/dorm-style cabin which sleeps up to 12 with share bathrooms and Unpowered camping areas, with access to shower and bathroom facilities.
Undercover, we can accommodate up to 30 guests, or camping for many more.

Our long weekend at the Eco Inn was wonderful thanks to the owner Phil who is super friendly, helped us in any way he could and made sure we are well entertained while on the Island.
I would also highly recommend to have your meals at the inn as they were just delicious! a big thank you to Louise and Adrien who helped Phil in the kitchen for the amazing food (the vegetarian lasagna was exceptional!).
We recently enjoyed 2 nights with Phil and Maria and their hospitilaity was impeccable!
When we first arrived on the island, we were greeted at the dock by a smiley faced Phil, who took us back to the Inn. He explained to us what it was like to live on the island & all that there was for us to do while we were there. Wow what an awesome night we had at Eco Inn! I had my 40th Birthday celebration with a custom written Murder Mystery night and dinner. They hosted a wonderful night and a dinner to die for! We were so impressed with how much effort went into preparing and decorating for our theme and accommodating us in every way. It was lovely sitting out on the porch with panoramic views of the bay endulging in the panoramic hill view of the bay surrounded by greenery and wildlife whilst having pre-dinner drinks. Another winner was a hearty farm breakfast of bacon and fresh eggs in the morning! We would like to thank you for your wonderful hospitality and we are already planning our next visit! :)
