Toshi's Japanese Restaurant

I've never written a review for any restaurant, but I had to for Toshi! This place has the best food ever -- from the beautiful sushi and fresh oysters right through the menu to the OUTSTANDING desserts. It's fun, romantic, relaxing wonderful service -- you are waited on by everyone in the place. If you want to eat quickly, don't go here, but if you want to sit and talk and laugh and learn about Japanese food it's your place. Sitting on the floor (legs under the table in a recess) is fun and far more comfortable for all ages. It can be 'noisy' but we love that -- sounds of people enjoying themselves. Bookings are a must, especially on the weekend. Get some sorbet for dessert -- it's the best you'll ever eat. You can BYO wine -- they have a great sake menu (try the tasting if you are a novice) -- and excellent cold beer. You can't go wrong with this place -- we'll see you there!

My family and I had so much fun at Toshi's one Saturday night recently. We rang earlier in the day and they said they were full but were willing to have us seated at 6pm for an early dinner. We needed to be out by 7.30pm when all tables would be needed. Suited us as we have 3 kids who can't sit still for long. The service was outstanding and so quick. Friendly, fun and helpful with lots of smiles. We sat on the floor, Japanese style and the food was scrumptious.

We will go again. A fine dining restaurant with fine service and a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
