Tovah has taken great pleasure in observing, appreciating and experiencing all creations that make this world a more beautiful and pleasurable place in which to live, particularly habitats (architectural structures) and objects.It was when her personal journey took a turn down a dark road that she made the discovery that she too could create? though not through architectural or industrial design, but fashion.

While the introductory chapters of Tovah?s life start well before this time, it was at the mere age of 14 that she had her first introduction to the world of fashion when the principal of one of Australia?s leading modeling agencies - Pricilla?s Model Management ? discovered her. At the time, Tovah had only just settled in Australia after migrating with her mother from her native country Cyprus. The timid spirit was a reluctant recruit, but her unique look saw her become one of Australia?s most promising exports.

Her fashion journey eventually came full circle and today she is creating garments for her ready-to-wear contemporary Australian label TOVAH. The label not only reflects her personal design aesthetic, but seeks to flatter the female form, and empower the wearer. The latter perhaps because she herself at times has felt powerless. This period of powerlessness was when Tovah overcame an addiction, ultimately leading to events that gave her a taste for fashion design. While it was a path one would rather not have travelled to discover their gift, it certainly has made for a far richer appreciation of it.

Tovah studied fashion design at the Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE. The standout student in her graduating year, she gained the chance to represent Australia in the Triumph Inspiration Award, which saw her winning design modeled by supermodel Helena Christiansen at the international finals in London. ...read more
