Another Vietnamese restaurant in Footscray that has been around for 20+ years. Being around for that long, they've become known for one thing and that's their Hu Tieu Mi. Hu Tieu Mi is a mixed rice and egg noodles dish that can be had either dried or in a soup similar to pho. I've brought work mates here in the past and they said they enjoyed the dried version. The Vietnamese style iced white coffee here is also top notched. Service has always been prompt. Recommend: Hu Tieu Mi Kho (dried) with a cup of ice coffee to wash it down.
I was here almost over a year ago and recently return with my parents to have a quick bite to eat. I ordered the dried egg noodle with a bowl of broth on the side, my mother salted fish with rice and my father Singaporean style noodle with seafood. All well cooked and food was quick on arrival. The place was fairly filled up with diners for a mid-week lunch. The only concern I had was on payment they didn’t take any cards, however there was no signs anywhere that it was a cash only place making it only difficult having to exit and return again. All in all, great food and efficient service.
Tra Vinh known for the Huu Tieu. I have eaten here several times, my husband orders the soup Huu Tieu but i order their garlic dice beef with tomato rice. I have eaten the Huu Tie before and it is pretty nice, the soup broth hs the right flavours and every other ingredient in the bowl all goes well together. Busy little restuarant in Footscray especially lunch time. Service is quick and speedy so if hungry the order comes out in time to start to gobble down. They also have a chain in WA also known for their Huu Tieu.
This is one of my regular go to places in Footscray. It's famous for its hu tieu mi rice/egg noodle dishes that come either in in soup or dry and you usually get a small bowl of soup on the side if you order the dry version. The serving sizes are generous and despite this the quality is not forgone. Great value for money. The Vietnamese ice coffee really hits the spot. The owner is brisque if you take too long to decide, but who can be blamed when the choices in the menu are so diverse which makes deciding all the more difficult.
