Pubs & Bars
Transport Hotel
There was a time when I used to always come to this place, particularly since it was rather close to the railway station. However I don’t do so much these days, namely because it does happen to get rather crowded at night. Still, I do love this bar, and the atmosphere, and also the huge selection of beers that they happen to have on tap. Honestly, this place is great, though I can’t say that it is as great as I used to think it was.
This was a lively environment located near Federation Square. It offers great views of the city and have happy hour as well.
They offer Asian, European and Australian dishes are reasonable prices. I ordered the Angus porterhouse steak with onion rings which was a larger portion than expected for the area. Overall l, would come back for dinner and drinks with a couple of mates!
I like this place and I have been here a number of times with people from work, but it is also a classic destination for me to take a break when there is someone visiting from overseas. The pub is very big. There are different areas, including outdoors tables for the warmest days of the summer. They have quite a large offer across their menu selection, mostly pub meals served in good proportion sizes with nice presentations. I do find that the prices are a little bit higher for what you are getting, but I guess you have to pay for the location and the nice views of the river. They claim to have a large selection of beers, over 60 different types, but I have not been able to verify it myself by trying all of them, well not yet at least!. I would recommend this place, especially if you want to meet for after work drinks, as it is located right in front of Flinders train station and next to the river, so it is a very convenient location to catch up after work and people can leave whenever they want
