Terrible customer service on Saturday morning by a brown haired waitress in a pink top. Extremely rude as I was waiting for my coffee - had a packet of food from the market sitting on the table ( I was not eating or planning on eating) and told me I could not eat food from outside. She should not have assumed that I was going to eat it. I will never eat there again. Coffee was not good either. Will tell all my friends to avoid.

Best scrambled eggs. !

I decided to try a new coffee shop and walked into Tricycle Cafe and can honestly say it will be my last time! The staff became offensively impolite upon questioning them about the enforced minimum charge on an eftpos transaction. Upon leaving the dank setting I could hear all the staff cackle and laughing as me and my guest left the place. Even if a customer is not right this is certainly no way to treat a customer and losing business in such a fickle market, however the worst part was the hair I discovered in in the cupcake I ordered, Yuck!! Makes you wonder about the hygiene practices at Tricycle cafe? I didnt see any of the kitchen staff wearing a chefs hat or netting to prevent hair from getting into the food.



I will never recommend Tricycle cafe to anybody or go there again!

You definitely have to visit many times to fully appreciate all of the food and decor tricycle has to offer. Staff are lovely and efficient. Coffee is great and I recommend the breakfast trifle. One of my favourite specials was the pear French toast and will definitely order if it is ever offered when I am there. Only problem is that is it so popular that on busy Saturday morning it can be difficult to get a table!!

I visit Hobart a few times a year because my sister lives there, she always takes me to this lovely little cafe for breakfast. Nestled inside the corridors of the old Salamanca dock buildings Tricycle feels like a locals only place but more welcoming and with none of the hostility that would afford in Melbourne.

The multileveled space gives each table a semi private area and creates an almost indoor garden party feel - admittedly being Tasmania most of the year it's a very cold garden party. The coffee is lovely and the staff are always nice and look like they are having a good time although it might be that I'm just used to Sydney wait staff.

The breakfasts are the best in the area and the specials board is well worth a try. I love all the little tricycles hanging around the shop and the little notice that encourages patrons to exchange any excess home-grown produce for a free meal or coffee.
