I have enjoyed Mediterranean food many times here and abroad. Unfortunately the Turkish Kitchen did not come close in providing service, care and quality of food I have enjoyed elsewhere. We both ordered Falafel rolls in the restaurant, $15 each, and were surprised by the abysmal quality, i.e. tabouleh was rough and not properly washed, falafel (grand total of 2 per roll) were old, rock hard and dripping with oil. The service was minimal; we had to secure our own cutlery from another table. The waiting staff had minimal communicating skills and our food was served by a cook who was clearly disinterested. Only a response was received from staff when ordering food and naming the cost of the meals. We felt disappointed and unwelcome.
I have been to Turkish Kitchen many times since they expanded their take-away business to include a restaurant, and I must say I have rarely been disappointed. A few of the first staff in the restaurant didn't have the level of personability that I like to recieve from my wait staff, but they ALL tried their hardest to make my visits exteremely comfortable! Any complaints were handled by a senior staff member with tact, and care, regardless of where they came from. I have never had to wait a period long enough to cause me anger or frustration, and this should be the case with ALL customers, as you can always tell when the restaurant is busy and if most people paid more attention, they would realise that having the combined pressure of running a take-away area AS WELL AS the restaurant, would make this a difficult expedition for anyone looking to open a business...even those who already have one established. The current staff at the Turkish Kitchen restaurant are ...read more
Went their for a quick dinner (@ their new location) with our 3-year old. Waiter told us it would be 15 minute wait. We asked him to bring out the kid''s meal first as our little one was hungry. After 35 minutes we finally got our food (all at the same time). My wife looks at her salad and there is a big hair in it (and she has short hair...). When we told the person passing by, they accused us that it was her hair. No apologies whatsoever. Food was mediocre for the price (mostly too salty). Never going back there as there are other options for turkish food which offer friendly service!
I think you should give them another chance cause they just opened 9 months ago
I think you should give them another chance cause they just opened 9 months ago, . when I went there I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was great, the service was of a high standard, and the price was surprisingly affordable
The best Turkish bread in Bendigo can be found here! We love the bread here and have recommended it to many people. The home-made betroot dip is also very good, as are the other dips but our 6 year old loves the beetroot dip. The kebabs are great too and made with the fabulous bread they make which is not the usual flat bread that many places use. The felafel is very tasty too, not dry like at some places.
