Tusk Cafe Bar

Breakfast and desert is so good. Tusk make pancake and sticky pudding which must be tried. Service sometime strange but most often good

We ate dinner here with the kids- aged 7 and 9. Their burgers took over half an hour to come and when we asked how long we'd have to wiat, were practically snubbed by the waitress.

What came was pretty much a soggy bun with char and my coffee tasted bad (I worked as a barrista for 3 years during university so I know good coffee). My one regret is that I wasn't more vocal about my bad experience, but when i told the waitress that my kids were hungry and had waited 30 minutes, was told that if i didn't like it, I could go elsewhere. well, i will.

Bad service, unacceptable food= eat anywhere else or not at all.

I worked out that I've eaten at Tusk over 20 times. I've eaten on Chapel Street over 200 times.

I've never had a worse meal. I've accepted that I won't always get what I ask for at Tusk but this is enough. I've never been treated with so little respect in my life. To wait for food is one thing, but to wait for the wrong food then be expected to pay for it is another.

I agree Tusk can be good. But It's no longer a risk that I'm willing to take. After finally getting my food (and missing the first 20 minutes of my movie down the street), and asked for take away.

The food was dry yet oily at the same time. It looked great but tasted like re-frozen old stock. I think that the only sensible option is eat somewhere else.

I would love to say that this was a worthy meal, but it wasn't. Not even close. Bland flavours, served with a hair. Yes, that's right- a hair in my food. Great location and people watching, but otherwise avoid, avoid, avoid.

Worst meal I've had on Chapel Street, and I've had a lot. They gave me the wrong food then refused to even acknowledge it, or me. I asked for my original order (after being served with the wrong food) and after 45 minutes found out they forgot to communicate this to the kitchen. Then they tried to bill me twice for my meal (still with no order having arrived).

The food quality is substandard but when you couple it with terrible service and a bad attitude it really disappoints. I would recommend going to Tusk if you want to lose weight, because I found that I lost my appetite after going through this ...read more
