I'd just like to thank the guys at Ultra Tune Macqarie centre for their integrity, honesty and brilliant job they did on my car! I was quoted an amount for the job they had to do, however the job ended up being a lot bigger than they first thought. They have a policy that once they've quoted a price, they can't change it. I didn't know that policy and I probably wouldn't have questioned if it had to be more, but was absolutely blown away at their honesty and integrity. Thank you so much!!!
I had a pleasant experience with UltraTune for a routine service of my car. Prices may have been marginally higher than other places I've been to, but this is a more expensive area overall. Will happily go back there again; will update my review if I find that this good experience was a one-off.
Stressed out counter staff, not interested in client concerns. Hit and miss diagnoses. Substandard testing after repair leading to return visits. Will charge you for their mistakes instead of admitting fault. Mechanics can't stand the sight of customers. Treated with suspicion when I made suggestions. Paid my hard-earned $ to rescue my car out of there. Eventually fixed it myself for $0 using basic procedure missed by Ultratune Macquarie. Don't trust them.
Ultratune were going to charge an extra $400 to change a waterpump (worth $80) when I had my timing belt changed. The same labor is required for both parts, yet they quoted charging double labor. They didn't change the waterpump even though I stressed that I wanted it changed (they said to save me money). 6 months later, the water pump made sounds. I had an independent mechanic look at it and it was close to failing. I wasted another $500 to get it changed. If I left it any longer, it would have snapped my timing belt and ruined the engine (thousands of dollars worth of repairs). Lucky I knew what an old water pump sounds like.
