Uncle
Welcome to Uncle, your Vietnamese adventure. We've got plenty of impeccably tasty morsels, large portions plus we're unquestionably hospitable. Dine with us now!
This is a funky spot to enjoy a Vietnamese meal and a drink and you can top it all off with the delicious coffee which I think I am becoming addicted to (I know purists will faint!) The food is good value, the service is prompt and friendly and portions are a reasonable size. Lots of interesting edible garnishes like beetroot crisps adorn dishes (which I also love) The mackerel and the whole fish in ginger and soy are a must-try. There is a lovely outdoor area and the dcor is fresh and clean with a trendy feel.
Dropped into the hot Uncle restaurant last week. Unfortunately it was a cold wet night so the roof deck was closed and there was a waiting list for upstairs. We opted for eating downstairs at the bar which has a restricted menu.
We thoroughly enjoyed the entrees of betel leaves and spring rolls and the crispy pork with quail eggs was a real high note. Unfortunately our other main, the steak was terrible-really tough meat, in edible so we left half of it on the plate. When asked by the waiter about it we let him know so to left the chef know. It was disappointing, otherwise the rest if our meal was enjoyable.
We'll go back and try and secure a table upstairs next time.
