I went here for lunch on a Saturday on a whim and really enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was basically empty, perhaps because it is a little hidden away upstairs behind the library. Unfortunate for them, but it meant we got to chat with Fabio, the owner and chef who was very friendly and enthusiastic, as well as being a great cook. I shared a Margherita pizza to start, which was one of the better Margheritas I've had in Sydney; a promising sign of things to come. As my main I had the fettucine with venison rag, which I really enjoyed, as it wasn't drowned in sauce like many restaurants, but wasn't as dry as some rags I had in Italy. The highlight of my meal though was the Tiramis di Fabio, which I would highly recommend.
In terms of drinks I enjoyed my glass of Aglianico del Vulture, which was lighter than I had expected and went well with the rag. Also loved the Lauretana ...read more
