Union Hotel

Albeit that True Local have the Union Hotel closed as I am sitting here!!
Union Hotel the best in the area. Ambience, staff, beer, and in particular the food...... !! Most excellent.

Great, authentic pub to watch a sporting match over a beer a good pub grub.

I have always liked the pub ever since I first stepped in here to watch the end of a football match. The roar that errupted once the game had finished was nothing short of priceless. Okay, maybe it doesn't have the most original of names, but it is still one of those pubs that I really like. The staff are always friendly, and even if the front bar is crowded, there is always the area out the back. Unfortunately there is no beer garden, only a smokers cage out the back. However there are seats out the front, though you have to be quick because once a group leaves, the seats will pretty quickly become occupied again. This is one of those pubs that I always make an effort to visit when I am down this end of town.

The atmosphere is a bit meh. Lots of "let's have a drink on chapel street but i don't know ehere to go types". Not the best place to watch the footy but ok to go for a quick drink with some friends. The foods pretty good and they've got some decent steak specials.
