University Cafe & Restaurant

Universal Cafe was my go-to place whenever I found myself on Lygon Street and was not sure what I want for dinner. This place has been around for ages, and would have fed generations of students from the nearby university, including me. My favourite dish here is their pork ribs & chicken wings lathered in a sticky bbq sauce with thick cut chips. A couple of years ago, I would've said this place was reasonably priced, however after a recent round of renovation work it looks like they have increased prices across the board to become a moderately priced restaurant.

An oldie but a goodie. I've been going here for a number of years now and with more and more Italian restaurants opening up on and around Lygon St it's hard to compete. But Universita never disappoints and always delivers quality Italian food. It's great in large groups that way you're able to try different dishes.

i always have my breakfast here with yummylicious coffee and overload breakfast meal. nice location, very cozy, so clean and relaxing. . the staffs are really kind and polite, very attentive they make sure that they can assist immediately whatever your needs. . cool! keep up the good work. .

Yesterday I was here for breakfast. The service was great and the meal got me up and going for the day. great food. love the coffee. hospitable and friendly staffs. .
