I have been using Unwired for the past six months as I have moved to Melbourne recently and it was a portable service. However, the reception CONSTANTLY drops out, and the fees are HUGE. The system works like a Prepaid phone service, but you only get a tiny amount of credit for a large fee. And that includes uploads as well as downloads - generally you need to top up every couple of days as most websites are so large these days - and it's impossible to purchase music or download files, and when your computer automatically downloads updates as they all do - it means Unwired is quite frankly the worst internet provider in Australia.
I live in the Inner city and NEVER get a working signal, even though their map suggests otherwise. Tried to cancel my memembership but just got told "Bad luck" I have signed up for a year. Giving them half a star is far too generous. Nothing positive to say about these people! Get a better role out Unwired and learn some customer service basics!
