On instillation of $3000.00 solar hot water system, installers failed to connect pipe, I had water gushing through my ceiling damaging paint work furniture smoke alarm, mess etc. (smoke alarm was replaced but they pushed to sell me another one.)
Just over the 12 month warranty a valve failed 24th December. charged $639 for a 5 minute job that should have been covered under the dept of commerce guidelines. Taken to court to pay it, costing me time off work and lot of bother, they admitted that they had this problem before a few times but the manufacturer was too difficult for them to deal with, so instead they harassed me, the customer to pay up instead.
This should have been fit for purpose within a reasonable period as per dept of commerce guidelines.
Expensive product, expensive and probably unwarranted cost to repair 16 weeks after a 12 month warranty. Unnecessary bother.
I had my solar hot water system installed promptly and efficiently last Spring, replacing an electric system. Having only needed to use to use the electric booster a handful of times since installation my electricity bill has reduced from 350units to 150units per quarter! The team from sales, installation and after sales questions were great and I would definitely recommend Ureco.
